Excellent God

Psalm 8:1 O Lord, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth, Who have set Your glory above the heavens!

Excellent – possessing outstanding quality or superior merit; remarkably good. Archaic. extraordinary; superior. Fine – splendid – first-rate – superb – superior.

The Psalmist David, spoke of the excellence of God’s name in all the earth. Think for a moment on the meaning of the word excellent and meditate on what it means to serve an excellent God.

Early this morning I sat out front and looked at the sky and I couldn’t help noticing the beauty of everything around me. The clouds, the birds, the rays of sunlight peeking out above the houses. I watched in awe at the perfect beauty of God’s handiwork. Who could have created all things so wonderful and in sync with such uncomprehending beauty. Only God.

Everything he made; even us, are made with such splendor that I can’t begin to imagine the non-existence of a higher being.  I look at photos of places around the world and I’m blown away the awesomeness with which all the earth was created. God is an artist in his own right and no one can duplicate his creations.

Our God is EXCELLENT!!!

We have been called to serve an excellent God. Being reconciled to Him and being considered children of His through Jesus Christ, we are  considered children of excellence.

2 Corinthians 5:20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

As children of an excellent God it is our responsibility to do all things in excellence portraying our father through our lives. Our lifestyles should be Holy and acceptable unto God.

Let us worship God in the beauty of holiness, not only with our lips but with our very lives.
