State Your Claim

Speak Life

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

There is a blessing stored up for us in high places which will only be released on the command of our tongues. We use this powerful weapon (the tongue) daily to express our innermost thoughts, desires, opinions, concepts, etc. We give our tongues full reign when it’s time to complain or add to the negativity of bad situations, but today we can do the exact opposite of that. As we continue to believe God for breakthroughs this year I encourage each of us to openly declare what we’re expecting God to do for us. SPEAK IT! SAY IT! TALK IT OUT LOUD! and once you believe it in your heart it will come to pass. I’m writing some of my declarations for 2014 here as an example of what I mean. You can write some of yours in the comment box below as well and I will agree with you in prayer for these things but be sure to say it out loud even as you type. Let the power of your tongue be for life always and never death.

MY DECLARATION

I am a woman of power who is anointed and appointed for such a time as this. I belong to the kingdom of Heaven and my Father is the creator of all things. I am blessed and highly favored and I shall not be moved or intimidated by the tricks of the enemy. I am a force to be reckoned with because of the power of Christ which works within me. I am a victorious leader, a child with a purpose and an ambassador for the kingdom of Heaven. I am saved, sanctified, washed in the blood and on fire for Jesus Christ and though troubles and trials will come I SHALL NOT BE MOVED!

Good things are coming my way……………………make that GREAT things; all in accordance to God’s purpose for me. I declare it, I believe it and I’m going to receive it.

What are you speaking into your life today?

Daily Dose – Wake Up!!!!

Destruction

Philippians 3:19  They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth.

If for any reason you didn’t read the scripture above, please stop and read it now.

Does this sound familiar to you? Can you think of a generation that is like this right now in this day and age?

We are………………

My heart aches as I type because I know that this verse describes our generation. We celebrate everything with food and have no desire to go through periods of prayer and fasting. Sexual immorality is accepted and has become a norm; pornography and prostitution is no longer taboo, sex is shown and discussed openly and loosely on every medium available to man and the world persecutes those who speak out against it. In addition, man’s eyes seemed to be fixed on earthly treasures and accomplishments rather than heavenly ones; everyone aims at building a nice house, driving a nice car, earning a great degree and finding the perfect job. How many are enthused about winning souls for the kingdom and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are being given a warning. If we do not wake up and change our ways, we will be destroyed. It’s time to shift our focus and realign it to God’s will.

Real Talk – Commitment Brings Control

Give it to God

II Timothy 1:12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day. NKJV

As I sit and reflect on the month gone, God’s spirit takes me back to the beginning of this month when Pastor Ali spoke to the church on the importance of letting God be in control. In His sermon Pastor asked the church if God is in control regardless of how we live. Of course the answer to that question was NO! You see because God has given us free will, His intervention on matters in our lives is determined by our willingness for Him to intervene. Therefore if our lives do not reflect or communicate as much to God then He cannot keep those things which we have held on to and refuse to put in His care.

As the month progressed it was revealed that we can interpret the above scripture two ways. Firstly God cannot control what we don’t commit to Him. There are so many battles the church face because we do not commit situations, tribulations, cares, worries and other such things into God’s care. We say that we love God and we trust His will, but we continue to try and live this life based on our own strength and understanding.

Secondly we see that whatever we commit to God He is able to keep. God’s word is true and He is faithful to what word, therefore we can rely on Him to stand true to it.  I have always been career motivated and so in the past I would constantly be battling with ways to advance my career in a particular direction. Earlier last year, when I began my relationship with Christ, I committed my job to God’s care and the rewards and peace of that commitment is simply amazing (you can ask me for details).

I know what you’re probably saying, “Keela you don’t understand. You don’t know how hard it is to let go of the things I’m dealing with. You have no idea what my battle entails”.  You’re probably right, I might not understand your particular situation but I do understand this; God’s word is true and if the bible says He is able to keep what we commit to Him then He really is able to do it. It’s up to us to trust His word and His love and give everything over to Him so He can have His way with it.

God doesn’t ask us to do anything without telling us how to do it. So, here’s how to start. Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.  If we are to find strength to commit things in our lives to God we first have to take our eyes off of those things and look toward Him. In so doing we will learn to trust His desire for our lives and we will begin to understand His true capabilities in keeping everything we commit to Him. So don’t take my word for it, try the remedy in Matthew 6:33 and begin to see what great things God will do with those things you commit to Him.

I hope you all have a blessed month.

Keela!

Daily Dose – Children of God

Children of God

Galatians 4:6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!”

God draws His children near, connecting them firmly to Himself through the Son and the Holy Spirit.

There is no division in the Godhead when it comes to loving God’s adopted children.

With the Spirit we call out “Abba Daddy” to the Holy One who loved us enough to call us to Himself, despite our sin.

Through Jesus’ sacrifice and the Spirit’s work, God the Father cleanses us and opens communications so we can follow Him truly.

Testimony – True Repentance Is Key

repentance

First i give all thanks and glory to the Holy Spirit for using my brother Michael, as an instrument or better said as my spiritual father, for he is the one who spent so much time and patience in helping me to know the truth of Jesus Christ.

My life as a youth was a troubled one because at a very tender age i got involved with drugs and this led me to a life full of sin such as lies, women, alcohol and the list goes on. Somewhere along the road of destruction i met and fell in love with a Spanish girl who also played; and is still playing, an important role in my life.

We have been married for the past 38 years now. I think it was in 1975 when I first traveled to Venezuela and there I got married to Rosa Amelia, the girl i met and fell in love with in Trinidad. After living in Venezuela for a few years I returned to Trinidad leaving my family in Merida. At that point we already had two children Carolina and Patrick Joseph. While being in Trinidad all by myself my sinful life became more aggressive. I started to cheat on my wife, I got involved with harder drugs. I found hope in the book of Acts.16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved, and thy house.

Once again the Lord sent my Brother Michael to my rescue. Michael provided me with the needed funds and I returned to Venezuela and was reunited with my family. At this point let me just say that I had already been baptized and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my savior. However I never really fulfilled all the requirements for truly accepting Jesus as my Lord and savior. The book of Acts 2:38 says  Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

REPENT. I got baptized but I didn’t repent totally as I continued to live a life in darkness. It was not until I found myself on a hospital bed on the verge of a heart attack due to my drug addiction that I finally became aware that without JESUS I couldn’t make it. Being there I remembered one of the scriptures in Jeremiah that says Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not (Jer 33:2-3). At that point I called out I really cried out “Beloved Father please get me through this one” and you know what? The Lord heard my cry and he answered my prayer because he saw that finally I was really sorry for my sins. I made the Lord a promise to serve him from that day on.

I give all Thanks, Honor and Glory to the King of Kings for He has allowed me to be serving Him for these twenty years now. (Hallelujah)!!!

My God Is Awesome

Awesome God

Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

In Trinidad and Tobago there is a group called the Solidarity Movement; a group that helps the youth of the nation stand together in solidarity and cry out to God.I was invited to the prayer meeting by my friend about a month ago and honestly I wasn’t very eager about attending at first but when I walked into the room there were approximately 200 YOUNG people praising and praying and the spirit of God was all around us. We spent all night giving praise to God and fighting warfare against the enemy. The presence of God was felt as soon as I walked into the room and I knew instantly that I was in the right place at the right time and God was going to do something great.

SolidarityDuring worship we cried out to God for freedom. Freedom from the strong holds the enemy placed against us and our family. Pastor Dougie (The leader of the solidarity movement) had all the young men link hands and stand at the center of the altar as a symbol of unity against the enemy and his workers of iniquity. While their hands were linked all of the women in attendance marched around them praying and making declarations on their lives. We all chanted FREEDOM and sounded the war cry as a unit and we felt the spirit of God move in an awesome way in the sanctuary.

After we marched around the men, all the women linked hands at the altar and the men began to march around us. We cried out to God to free us from all the hurt that we have endured as women. We called out to him to break the chains of bondage upon our lives and give us to strength to move past the hurt and be ambassadors for him. While praying I began to cry out because I kept seeing all the women in my family who have strayed from God’s word and whose lives are controlled by the enemy. I was overwhelmed with emotion and all I could do was call the name Jesus and beg for their release.

God gave me a revelation last night. I need to pray for the women in my family and in my life, because the enemy is out to destroy us. I have made the decision to fight warfare in the spirit realm and take back what the enemy has stolen from me. I know that the devil will not stand idly by and watch God take back the souls of these women but I enter this fight knowing that the battle is not mine, and that the enemy has NO POWER over this child of God.

Just as I have made this decision to reclaim what is rightfully my father’s I want to encourage you to take the spiritual realm by force and help take back what is rightfully God’s own. Maybe it’s a son or a daughter, maybe even a spouse or friend who has turned from God or have not had the opportunity to know him intimately. What ever the situation we have the victory over it through Christ our lord. Keep trusting God and stand firmly on his word and you will see a remarkable testimony unfold before you.

I don’t know what God has done for you but I urge you to share your testimony with someone and offer them the encouragement they need to live a life pleasing to God.

Please share your testimony with us by emailing it to testifywithme@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you.

God Bless You!

Sister Saved

Acts 8:36 As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?” [37] Then Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.”And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” 38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.

Yesterday was one of the happiest days of my life. MY BIG SISTER GOT BAPTIZED!!!

I’ve always enjoyed baptisms, even before I understood its true meaning. I love the way the everyone looks and the atmosphere that accompanies it. ohhhhhhhhhhh and when the individual is submerged in water and comes up it feels so serene!

Yesterday that feeling was amplified by ten million for me. I was so happy I felt I would burst at the seams. I laughed and cried, I sang and danced and just kept praising God all the way through. I have been continually praying for all members of my family to be saved, sanctified, washed in the blood, holy ghost filled and on fire for Jesus Christ. Yesterday I saw the first answer to that prayer and I am overwhelmed with emotions because I have proof yet again that my savior and redeemer is alive and working in my life.

I wish to encourage all of you who are praying for a long time regarding situations in your life and the lives of your family and friends. DON’T STOP PRAYING AND BELIEVING. Our God is real and he’s just waiting on the right time to deliver your blessing. I haven’t had a complete answer to my prayer, but I am believing in faith that the rest of my family will experience the fullness of Christ and will be saved. And while I wait I’m going to continue praying about it and thanking God in advance for their salvation.
Remember if you have a testimony to share feel free to email it to testifywithme@gmail.com and I will be sure to let the world know that God is indeed alive and working for us. I look forward to hearing from you.
God Bless You!
