Speak Life

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

There is a blessing stored up for us in high places which will only be released on the command of our tongues. We use this powerful weapon (the tongue) daily to express our innermost thoughts, desires, opinions, concepts, etc. We give our tongues full reign when it’s time to complain or add to the negativity of bad situations, but today we can do the exact opposite of that. As we continue to believe God for breakthroughs this year I encourage each of us to openly declare what we’re expecting God to do for us. SPEAK IT! SAY IT! TALK IT OUT LOUD! and once you believe it in your heart it will come to pass. I’m writing some of my declarations for 2014 here as an example of what I mean. You can write some of yours in the comment box below as well and I will agree with you in prayer for these things but be sure to say it out loud even as you type. Let the power of your tongue be for life always and never death.

I am a woman of power who is anointed and appointed for such a time as this. I belong to the kingdom of Heaven and my Father is the creator of all things. I am blessed and highly favored and I shall not be moved or intimidated by the tricks of the enemy. I am a force to be reckoned with because of the power of Christ which works within me. I am a victorious leader, a child with a purpose and an ambassador for the kingdom of Heaven. I am saved, sanctified, washed in the blood and on fire for Jesus Christ and though troubles and trials will come I SHALL NOT BE MOVED!

Good things are coming my way……………………make that GREAT things; all in accordance to God’s purpose for me. I declare it, I believe it and I’m going to receive it.

What are you speaking into your life today?

Daily Dose – You Will Stand Out

Deuteronomy 14:2 For thou art an holy people unto the Lord thy God, and the Lord hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth.

Ever stopped and thought to yourself “I’m so different” or, if you’re like me you probably find yourself saying “I’m weird”?

I know I have. In the past I’ve questioned my difference. I somehow don’t always fit in or share the view of the vast majority and sometimes I’m the only one making a stance for what I believe in and speaking out on issues that have become “the norm”.

If you’re like me then I have good news for you. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO STAND OUT HONEY!

You have been chosen by God as a Peculiar person to stand above all the nations upon the earth. It’s a good thing to not fit in, and stand for right even when everyone has become comfortable doing wrong.

Today, let’s join in celebration! If your stance for God and your belief in His word has caused you to stand out or stick out at times, I raise a toast to you.

Here’s to being called by God and representing him in all peculiarity!!

Daily Dose – An Ounce of Goodness

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Last night I had the most incredible revelation from God: No matter the situation, there’s always something to be thankful for.  Think of the most negative, hurtful, terrible situation that has ever happened to you or someone you know or think of someone who really, really gets you on your wrong side (we all know somebody). Ponder on any of the two and I’m certain you’re going to find at least one ounce of goodness in that situation or person that you can be thankful for.

Most nights I have a list of people or situations that God would have placed in my heart during the day, that I pray for. Last night as I was about to pray for the persons on my list God told me to thank him for specific things in each person or individual.

At first I was reluctant, because I knew these people were going through some tough situations and I wanted to present those situations before the throne of grace. Past experiences however, has thought me not to argue with God, so I obeyed His command and began to thank Him for each person; not asking for anything at all.

While praying persons and situations that weren’t on my list began to come to mind and I thanked God for specific things in them as well.  Soon enough, persons and situations that I didn’t like or wasn’t pleased about started to come to mind and I realized I had things to thank God for where those things were concerned as well.

When I rose from praying God said to me, “there is good in everything and everyone, it’s up to you to focus on the good and be thankful for it”.

This morning as I climbed off my bed Hitler came to mind. What could I thank God for where Adolf Hitler was concerned? The man who attempted to destroy an entire race of people because their physical features did not please him. It took a little while before I found something and then I thanked God that Hitler was only up set with one race of people.

I realize now that sometimes we get so caught up looking at the negatives and the trials, and frustrations of life that we neglect to truly thank God for the ounce of good that dwells in bad situations. I’ve decided to dedicate this month to giving thanks rather than complaining. I am going to activate my faith and stand on God’s promise that ALL things will work together for my good because I love Him and I’m going to find peace in knowing that whatever is taking place in my life is His will for me.

What do you say, are you up for such a challenge?

Daily Dose – Temptation

Matthew 4:11  Then the devil left Him, and behold, angels came and ministered to Him

Matthew chapter 4 tells of when Jesus was tempted by the devil after fasting for forty days.

The word of God promises that we would not be given more than we can bear and God will provide a way out for us during times of temptation. For each temptation that came Jesus’ way the word of God was His way out.

In verse 11 of chapter 4  we see that it wasn’t until AFTER Jesus resisted temptation, did the angels come and minister to Him. We all have angels assigned to us and they wait for such time when they can come and minister to our hearts as well.

Sometimes though, when faced with temptation we give in rather than stand on God’s promise that he will provide a way out (1 Corinthians 10:13). Afterward we find ourselves going before God seeking forgiveness; this isn’t a bad thing because God is gracious, merciful and faithful to forgive our sins.

However when I think about it, I’d much prefer resist temptation and have my encounter with the angels than seek forgiveness for succumbing to sin. In times of temptation we are faced with two choices: Give in or resist.

The possibility that I will be ministered unto by Holy angels when I resist temptation is one more reason for me to choose to do right by God.

What will you do when it’s your time to choose?

Daily Dose – The Heart Matters

Psalm 15:2 He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;

In the verse above God was telling David who shall abide in His tabernacle and dwell in His holy hill.

God tells David; in addition to other things, that what is in a man’s heart will determine where his dwelling place is.

Sometimes it’s easy to “act right” as a Christian. It’s easy to do all the right actions and say all the right words, so others can see and know that you’re a Christian.

The real challenge however is having a heart that is pure in the eyes of God. Our Father looks past the flesh, past the good works and right words: He looks at our hearts. The heart of man reveals all things in it’s entirety.

What does God see when he examines your heart?

Daily Dose – Pray For Others

Job 4:10 And the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.

We all know the story of Job and how he stood firm in his belief during a time of great tribulation.

If you read the book of Job you will see that his friends scolded him and believed that the reason for his suffering was because of something he did to anger God.

This would have upset anyone and some of us might have ended the friendship we had with our accusers, however we see in the final chapter of this book that Job’s captivity only ended AFTER he prayed for his friends.

In life people will do things to hurt us and they may judge us wrongly. While our first instinct will be to pull ourselves away from the presence of those persons remember that your breakthrough just might be dependent on you praying for those persons.

Daily Dose – Thy Will Be Done

Matthew 6:10 Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.

I have been pondering the above scripture for some time now and I can’t begin to express the excitement I feel when I say the four bold words above. YOUR WILL BE DONE!

It takes a level of humility, trust and faith to sincerely pray such a prayer. So many times I have repeated the Our Father prayer and not realized the true magnitude of its words. Only now as God is taking me through a season of pruning and grooming that my eyes have been opened and my heart blessed with various revelations in this scripture.  While there are many parts of this prayer I can expound upon, tonight I will focus on those four words in verse 10 of Matthew chapter 6.

I believe that we have been boxing God in by praying for things and not accepting that what we ask for may not be what God intends for our life.

2 Timothy 1:8-9 Therefore do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me His prisoner, but share with me in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God, who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to HIS OWN PURPOSE and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

When God saved and called us it was according to HIS purpose. God has an intended purpose for each of our lives and sometimes we don’t fully understand what it is, so we try to shape our lives a particular way, by praying for specific things which we sincerely believe are in alignment with God’s design for us. Don’t get me wrong, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with asking God for what is in our hearts, however we need to be mindful that if what we want is not what God intends for our life then we need to accept His will when it is manifested in our lives.

The manifestation of God’s will outside of ones desire is exemplified in Luke 22:42-43 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.” Then an angel appeared to Him from heaven, strengthening Him.

This was the night Jesus would be betrayed and he went to His father earnestly asking to not have to face the pain of the cross. In His prayer Christ acknowledged that His Father’s will should be done above all else. Here we see that instead of removing the cross from Jesus’ destiny, God instead strengthened Him for the rest of the journey.

I believe that this is what is happening today with a lot of believers. We are asking God for things and praying about circumstances with the expectation that God is going to say yes. We have not considered that what we desire may not be God’s will for our lives. It is very possible that some of the things the people of God are asking for will not come the way we’re expecting it. Some of the things may not come at all because they are not in alignment with God’s will for our lives. The problem lies not in the answer from God, but in our ability or willingness to accept an answer contrary to what we desire.

As I type I realize that I am guilty of such actions. I ask God for things sometimes and I really do expect Him to give it to me or to work out situations in a particular way, in a specific time frame and I don’t leave room for His will to be done in my life. God’s will for Jesus on the cross was our salvation. If he had taken the cross from Christ, if Jesus’ blood was not shed we would not have the promise of eternal life today. Clearly the will of God supersedes the desires of men.

It’s time for change. It’s time for us to mean what we say when we pray. It’s time for God’s children to trust His will for our lives and embrace the purpose for which we have been called!

Complaisance: My desire for God

1 Chronicles 28:9 “And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the LORD searches every heart and understands every motive behind the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

I’ve been falling away from God. I’m not boasting, but acknowledging my weakness openly and confessing my imperfection before God and man. Earlier this year I developed a relationship with God and I was very very eager to serve him and do work for the kingdom. In the past weeks though I have fallen away. I stopped reading my bible with the enthusiasm I used to, I hardly pray and I stopped making declarations on my life. You can only imagine how empty I feel by now right. I feel like I’ve moved away the covers from over me on a cold night.

Death has yet again caused me to look at my life and its course in perspective to God’s word. Losing a friend who just started living as an adult has me broken hearted and shattered. I feel like my heart is in a vice and someone keeps twisting it every couple of minutes. Most of my pain is coming from the fact that I’m not sure whether my friend had a relationship with Christ or not. I feel like I’ve failed in delivering the good news to him before it was his time to leave this earth.

I know I can’t pray for the dead and I can’t bring my friend back to life but I am determined to save as much people as I can before my heavenly father is ready to take me home. I can’t afford to falter in my walk with Jesus and I can’t allow the enemy to deceive me into thinking that all is well and pull away from the arms of God. I can’t stay in a corner enjoying my salvation while the enemy devours my friends and family.

I am determined now more than ever to remain complaisant in serving God. I will not falter especially when things are working in my favor. I am inclined to please my father in heaven through my lifestyle and the testimony of my mouth. I am a worker for the kingdom of heaven and I will tell of the goodness of Jesus every chance I get.

If you haven’t made the decision to serve God wholeheartedly I urge you to do so now. Don’t wait for a trial to seek him. While you are alive and well seek God’s face and serve him with sincere devotion and a willing mind. Jesus is waiting to be your lord and Savior all you need to do is open your heart to him and watch him work in your favor.

If you wish to know more about the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how to develop a relationship with him please contact me by emailing to testifywithme@gmail.com

I look forward to hearing from you.

God Bless You!

My God Is Awesome

Awesome God

Ecclesiastes 12:1 Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;

In Trinidad and Tobago there is a group called the Solidarity Movement; a group that helps the youth of the nation stand together in solidarity and cry out to God.I was invited to the prayer meeting by my friend about a month ago and honestly I wasn’t very eager about attending at first but when I walked into the room there were approximately 200 YOUNG people praising and praying and the spirit of God was all around us. We spent all night giving praise to God and fighting warfare against the enemy. The presence of God was felt as soon as I walked into the room and I knew instantly that I was in the right place at the right time and God was going to do something great.

SolidarityDuring worship we cried out to God for freedom. Freedom from the strong holds the enemy placed against us and our family. Pastor Dougie (The leader of the solidarity movement) had all the young men link hands and stand at the center of the altar as a symbol of unity against the enemy and his workers of iniquity. While their hands were linked all of the women in attendance marched around them praying and making declarations on their lives. We all chanted FREEDOM and sounded the war cry as a unit and we felt the spirit of God move in an awesome way in the sanctuary.

After we marched around the men, all the women linked hands at the altar and the men began to march around us. We cried out to God to free us from all the hurt that we have endured as women. We called out to him to break the chains of bondage upon our lives and give us to strength to move past the hurt and be ambassadors for him. While praying I began to cry out because I kept seeing all the women in my family who have strayed from God’s word and whose lives are controlled by the enemy. I was overwhelmed with emotion and all I could do was call the name Jesus and beg for their release.

God gave me a revelation last night. I need to pray for the women in my family and in my life, because the enemy is out to destroy us. I have made the decision to fight warfare in the spirit realm and take back what the enemy has stolen from me. I know that the devil will not stand idly by and watch God take back the souls of these women but I enter this fight knowing that the battle is not mine, and that the enemy has NO POWER over this child of God.

Just as I have made this decision to reclaim what is rightfully my father’s I want to encourage you to take the spiritual realm by force and help take back what is rightfully God’s own. Maybe it’s a son or a daughter, maybe even a spouse or friend who has turned from God or have not had the opportunity to know him intimately. What ever the situation we have the victory over it through Christ our lord. Keep trusting God and stand firmly on his word and you will see a remarkable testimony unfold before you.

I don’t know what God has done for you but I urge you to share your testimony with someone and offer them the encouragement they need to live a life pleasing to God.

Please share your testimony with us by emailing it to testifywithme@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you.

God Bless You!
