Daily Dose – Compassion

Father God

Psalm 68:5 A father of the fatherless, a defender of widows, Is God in His holy habitation.

God’s love is very tender toward those who hurt. Children who have lost their fathers and women who have lost their husbands can count on His compassion.

When we lose a loved one, do we focus on the Father’s gentleness? We are more likely to complain that he did not extend life than to praise Him for His care.

But when we feel the most pain, we also receive the largest portion of God’s comfort.

What hurts his children, hurts him too.

Faith or Fear

baby

Last weekend I attended a women’s retreat. This was my first ever retreat and I must say I had an amazing time with these women. It’s amazing how we can see people every Sunday in church and not realize how beautiful and wonderful they are. The retreat lasted a weekend and during that time we had various sessions.

One of those sessions entailed sitting with a partner and getting to know each other. I sat with sister Dick and this woman really challenged me to continue serving God in faith.

Sister Dick and I sat the pool and shared with each other on various things. The one thing that stuck with me was one of her encounters with God and the faith she had in him to save her son’s life.

When her youngest son was one year old she got a call from doctors telling her he had leukemia. She got the call a Friday; the very day she was getting prepared to go to a youth retreat as the chef for the weekend. She told the doctors that she couldn’t bring Christian in until the Monday morning.

Sister Dick unlike most of us didn’t panic. She carried out her responsibility at the camp and on the last day requested prayer for her situation. She took Christian to the hospital the following Monday where a team of doctors were assigned to him. After spend long hours in the hospital by her son’s side, Sister Dick went home to have a bath and return to comfort her child.

While at home, in a fit of tears she heard a voice say to her “choose this day Faith or Fear, but know that both of them cannot dwell in the same house.” With the determination only a desperate mother could have she chose to have faith in God and trust him to heal her son. Sister Dick returned to the hospital that afternoon and the doctors surrounding her son all turned to face her. The head doctor said to everyone there “you see this woman, this is a praying woman” she then turned to sister Dick and said “woman take your son and go home”

Today some of us are facing some really scary situations in our lives and we need to make a choice whether we’re going to stand on faith in Jesus expecting him to see us through or if we’re going to give in to fear.

Daily Dose – Always Secure

Heaven_Glimpsing-Eternity-Sermon-pic

Psalm 93:2 Your throne was established long ago, you are from all eternity

There was never a moment when God did not exist. No scrap of time or eternity came into being without Him, and nothing escapes His powerful reign.

That’s good news for His children. For whatever we face, now in our heavenly abode, we know our Father is in control.

No spiritual warfare or earthly disaster lies beyond His plan. No wickedness of Satan can take Him by surprise.

Ours is the eternal Lord, who has loved us from the start. In Him, we are always secure.

Daily Dose – Eternity {Be Prepared}

GUWG-Be-Prepared

Ecclesiastes 3:11…….. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Though each of us has a bit of eternity in our hearts, and we cannot rest unless we know the Savior, we also cannot fathom the works of God.

That can either make us dissatisfied and doubtful or relaxed, trusting children who know their Father is in control and will care for them from beginning to end.

Have you trusted Him who is Alpha and Omega? Are you prepared for eternity with Him?

Daily Dose – God of Comfort

2 Corinthians 1:4 [God] who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

When you hurt God offers you comfort.

No trouble is so large or so small that He would not help. But when you have received his strength for the trouble at hand, do you share it in turn?

Comfort isn’t meant to be hidden away, but passed on to those in a similar need. As part of the body of Christ, we; the Church, should be sharing the knowledge that God cares for and strengthens all His children.

Daily Dose – Wise Correction

Proverbs 29:15 The rod and rebuke give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

In today’s world, fears of child abuse have caused us to ignore this verse.Have we therefore missed the power of correction, which gives our children wisdom?

As God restrains us from wrongdoing, we need to stop our children too. We need not touch a child physically to modify behavior.

Will we discipline harmful actions now to raise wise, God fearing children or raise a generation of foolish children?

Daily Dose – A Godly Example

Matthew 19:14 But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”

On earth Jesus loved children. He never shut them out.

Though their youth gave them little credence in Israel, He saw the faith potential in them. Certainly the children loved Jesus too, for His kind-heartedness.

Do we shut children out of our lives because we are too busy or have more “important” things on our minds?

Then we need to take an example from Jesus. For a new take on God’s kingdom, spend time with a child today.

Daily Dose – Children

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.

What a promise for Christian parents!

When you feel pressured by the task, take comfort. You are not alone; your father is with you and promises that the effective witness of your life, as you teach your children His way, will not fail to bless them.

Parents who have just come to Christ can begin the training today. It is never too late to share your faith with those you love most.

God Protects His Own

2 Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.

Isn’t it awesome knowing that we serve a faithful God, a God who will honor his word and who we can depend on? This weekend I heard two wonderful testimonies about the faithfulness of God to protect his people and I just have to share these with you.

1st TESTIMONY

During service on Sunday a young woman got up and began to tell the congregation how God has been protecting her life for the past three months.

Our sister was in a vehicular accident late last year and had to have her vehicle repaired. She got it repaired to a point but still had some work to be done. She was able to drive her vehicle for the past three months because the missing part was not crucial to the operation of the vehicle.

Last Thursday she got the part she needed to complete the repairs and took her vehicle to the mechanic. With tears streaming down her face the young lady began to explain to us the way in which the mechanic spoke to her in awe as he explained to her that every bolt at the front of her vehicle was loose. Some were loose to the point that he simply took them off the car with his fingers.

I’m not a mechanic and I don’t understand all of the workings of vehicles but I understand enough to know that God was the only one keeping that young lady from harm.

2nd TESTIMONY

During the same service one of our musicians shared this testimony with us:

He said on Friday of last week he went home after service and lay down to sleep. While sleeping he was dreaming that he was having a conversation with God. In fact he said he was arguing with God when he heard God saying to him “Get up let me show you something”

At first he didn’t pay any attention to it but he heard the voice say again “Get up let me show you something”

When he awoke and looked down his house was flooded. Without placing his feet on the ground he looked around and realized there was a live electrical wire submerged in the water on the floor.

Just outside were his two young sons, who at any moment could have opened the door to their home and been electrocuted.

God did not allow any harm to come to Sammy or his family because as his word says our God is faithful and he will protect his people.

Just as God protected his children in these two situations I know that he is protecting all of us from danger and from the plans of the enemy.

Thank you father for being a faithful God and for protecting me.

He Supplied My Needs

Here is a testimony of the love God showed someone even when they believed they were undeserving of it. Our father loves us unconditionally and as illustrated below he does not always give us what we want, but he will always give us what we need. Read on and be blessed.

God heard my cry when my life was at its lowest point a number of years ago. I didn’t deserve to have Him hear me, but He did. He saved me from myself and for that I am eternally grateful.

He used my children to bring me to Him and to improve my life, and continues to do so. I am so blessed to have two sweet boys who have never stopped showing me why I’m supposed to be here right now. I love being a father and love that even though my life in some ways has not gone as I had hoped, in so many more it has…and continues to get even better.

I have so much more than l will ever need and that is God’s peace in my life, through every situation. We may not always get what we want, but we will always have what we need (Phil 4:19) and for that, I am thankful every day.

Praise God for listening to prayers and for answering them!”

I hope that this testimony has blessed your heart in the same way it has blessed mine.

Please send your Testimonies to testifywithme@gmail.com or like my Facebook Page Testimonies of His Goodness and send a message. Let us tell the whole world about the goodness of God.

God Bless You!
